Breaking any of these rules will result in two warnings, then kicking from the group.
No exceptions.

  • This here is the most obvious- do NOT power play. This is a roleplay that will likely include some fighting, as well as DAILY sparring for those in the military ranks; a talented, capable, or even progidous character is perfectly fine but do not go overboard. Especially with the daily spar.
  • More on the daily spar- your character cannot win every time. Depending on the opponents you face, your character will win or loose, and you should make the decision as to whether or not your character would pawn that person or not. For instance, if your opponent was young, inexperienced, and overly cocky you could definitely win. If you were up against an Assassin? Probably not.
  • This is an RP that is rated M, meaning yes, mature scenes are allowed. Gore will likely happen a lot, and possibly torture, but no sexually explicit content. This is because that if that was permitted the RP would likely be turned into a giant pornography. Take it to whisper, folks.
  • We prefer characters that are native born into their clan (the Nix, or the Ceciderit), but they DO accept loners as well, so that is an option. But we definitely prefer native born; only if you must, your character could have just joined the clan later on.
  • If you want your character to be pregnant, the litter can not be greater than six pups, and at least half of the number have to be played by real people. (If it was five, only two would need to be RPed by real people).
  • Pups must wait three days before they are able to being talking correctly, and three weeks before they can talk with good grammar. They can open their eyes after one day.
  • Mothers must be pregnant for at least a whole month of RP. Not pregnant as in belly the size of a basketball, but just knowing that they are pregnant.
  • No forbidden love. I know it's awesome to go Romeo and Juliet, but it just wouldn't happen in these circumstances; the mistrust is too great and whenever the two clans interact, they almost always have a skirmish. There is just very little room for a friendly interaction to occur between members of the opposite family.
  • Similarly, no switching sides. Neither side is bad in the roleplay, and most characters will have been raised in the clan. All of their family will be there, and they will have been trained to hate their enemies. Betrayal is highly unlikely- if you have a good reason, then we might allow it. But for certain reasons (that cannot be disclosed right now), we'd prefer nobody switches sides.
  • If you have a major idea, as in something that would effect the whole clan or a large group of people, notify an admin or post it in the General Discussion before actually executing it.
  • If you have an idea for a species notify an admin and then you can optionally post their info page. They must be fitting to the setting of Third Kind, and they don't have to have a big role in the storyline.
  • The Ceciderit are oftentimes brown, tan, and golden wolves, so if you're going to be a Ceciderit go with those colors. Nix are grayscale, and oftentimes they're white or light gray. Dark gray is less common. Black is rare for both clans.
  • Be active at least twice a week, but you should really be on more than that because of how quickly things might move at certain points.
  • Last and most important- HAVE FUN. :D

Now here are some tips that could help everyone to make this RP run more smoothly and make it overall better.
  • Ships are awesome, but people have a bad habit of only focusing on their romance with another character, which makes it very tedious to try and RP with them. But a lot of others know first hand that a brotherly moment between two characters has potential to be just as cute. Relations other than just romance are highly encouraged.
  • Along with that, pre-build relationships are also encouraged. Have siblings, childhood friends, parents, family friends. All of it is welcomed, because most characters were born and raised in their clan, so it wouldn't make sense for them to not know anybody. So feel free to ask anyone if they want your characters to be buddies.
  • Don't give your character a terribly tragic backstory, because that might make it more difficult for them to fit into the Clan's backstory. It's fine if their parents died in an enemy raid of at the hands of spiders, but nothing that is off the handle.
  • Since this is a very character-driven RP, it would be great if you could contribute with small ideas (or big ones), as well as smaller side-plots with smaller amounts of characters. Side-plots don't need to be given the okay as long as they fit the setting.
